Late in 2007 I started a PhD thesis at INRIA entitled "Model Validation in the Context of Adaptive System". The goal of this study (as I discovered later in 2008) is to support the "software quality" of the so called adaptive systems. An adaptive system as an intelligent piece of software (an/or hardware) able to adapt itself to changes in the environment directly (or indirectly) surrounding it. For these system "quality" means sound adaptation capacity, strong self healing mechanisms, and robust decision engines / reasoners. My project is to create and empirically study techniques that will allow to "test" the decision engines, the healing mechanism, and the quality of the design underlying them. Hopefully this project will finish about june 2010 with my thesis defence.
See the world in such a way that reality will never be the same as before. This is the goal of augmented reality, building elements on top of the current existent and tangible reality. Augmented reality brings new elements into reality and enables a broad scope of appliances ranging from pyrotechnic work in product unveiling and presentation, passing through mobile information such as location, touristic information, education book information, to gaming and technical support. My project in the mean time is starting an innovative enterprise capable of deliver augmented reality solutions for enterprises and mass public.

Clear energy for the world. Nowadays, the pervasive energy sources are based on oil and charcoal (a minority of nuclear and renewable energies). These energy technologies have several drawbacks, they are highly contaminant, poorly efficient, and subjects to starvation since the resources used as fuel do not renew themselves. We have better options to these technologies, such as eolic power, tidal power, solar energy, solar thermal energy, etc. These technologies (1) are clean since they produce no contaminant waste, (2) are renewable and endless, and (3) can be efficient a very low price. Furthermore, when we combine these energies with the optimization of their consumption, we have Clean andSmart Energy. The applications of clean smart energy are huge, ranging from home heating to electric car enregy supply chain.
The idea behind this random movie is to face the spectator with a dynamic history, which can vary each time played (placing the perception in different sides). It corresponds to a combination of narrative and technological ideas. My colaboration in this proyect is just a little technical part of the DVD production, the major effort, imagination, sweat and tears corresponds to Leonardo Medel and his team. For more information about you can surf the movie webpage and the SURE website.
GeXpert is a genetic analyzer expert system. GeXpert is designed to support the work of an expert in biotecnology and obtain conclusions from bioinformatics analysis. This in order to help biotechnology professionals (like genetic engineers, biochemical engineers, medical doctors, etc...) to do their work faster. Therefore, reducing the time consumed in performing and analyzing the results of genetic comparisons, pattern matching, open reading frames (ORF's) search, DNA conversion, and so on. GeXpert system also integrates multiple Bioinformatics databases and applications across the internet, with a friendly GUI interface.
