I’m just guessing when is this bubble going to explode?

It’s not that I don’t believe in social stuff, but there is way too many social “leechers” (just get a list of facebook apps and games and their valuation)… just guessing when will the bubble burst?

The amazing thing was just to start Next with the idea of pulling down the technology for the benefit of students.

I think we should focus more on what technology provides to education in general, and young generations, students in specific. I don’t think Facebook is the answer. So far.

As small anecdote: I remember a meeting I had at Apple HQ (the very first in my life) with a big French company cancelled last year because a College from Washington or something was visiting at the very last moment, and there was a lack of people in Apple Team at this time. This is still a priority in Cupertino!

SourceSquare is a free open source scanning solution, based on Antepedia, the world’s largest open source knwoledge base, including more than 1,000,000 open source projects from the main forges. SourceSquare is a free (as in free beer) and free (as in free speech, licensed under GNU Affero Public Licence V3) product, which scans a folder on your hard drive and displays a treemap that shows which part of your source code is open source.

The treemap is a very powerful graphical visualization to display a large amount of data. It lets the eye extract important information very easily. (The treemap library comes from JavaScript InfoVis Toolkit – thank you for providing such great software! – and the design was made by Edouard Lefebvre in record time!)

And of course, SourceSquare uses Antepedia through a public API available to SourceSquare users (no regsitration need), the largest database of open source projects. Once the treemap is displayed on your computer, you can browse it and drill down to see more details on the subfolders. You can even publish it, to show it to everyone! (Folder names are not published, to prevent spreading confidential information.) The installation is very simple: all you need is a Java Virtual Machine and an Internet connection. No registration required. Just download and play!
